W
orld War I (1914-1918) was a human catastrophe
that devastated Western civilization and mocked the hope inherent in “modernism”. The sheer volume of the war’s slaughter was beyond belief. The horror of it all destroyed the trust in science, medicine and technology as the golden gateway to a harmonious and peaceful future for humanity. All that was thought to be good had been twisted to the evil purpose of a global war. A global sense of hopefulness was replaced with a global sense of fear and loathing.

Chaotica Fractal Art Competition and version 1.1
Hi guys, sorry it's been so long since the last update! There's been a lot of silent Chaotica progress on many fronts, from important fixes for Mac OS to a powerful new rendering mode and layers support...
But before I get into that, the other big news is the first Chaotica fractal art competition :#1:
This is a great opportunity to show off some really hot fractal renders and win a Chaotica licence and an iPod Nano! The free version of Chaotica may of course be used, and if you'd like help rendering a final version at higher resolution please don't hesitate to ask :D
The competition runs until the 25th of October, and entries must be post

100 POINT/$1 GIVEAWAY BULLSHIT!! LOOK INSIDE!!
Okay, guys... I don't know if it's just me that has noticed this god-awful trend here on dA, but what's up with the 100-point giveaways on the front page of popular journals lately?
They all go something like this:
Rules:
- Add me to your watch list to be aware of future giveaways;
- Add this journal to your list
- Write a journal about this giveaway (Optional). And the best part? They all average for 200 comments at the end of their life span.
So, what's wrong with this, you may ask? Well. We are talking about TWO HUNDRED PEOPLE BEGGING FOR ONE FUCKING DIGITAL DOLLAR NOT REDEEMABLE OUTSIDE OF DEVIANTART. ONE. FUCKING. DOLLAR.

Exhibit
My girlfriend and her friends are getting an exhibition and I will most likely join them. It isn't happening soon, but I'm pretty happy for it :D3. Features!
4. Kiriban
Just thought of it - a Kiriban at 6144(6 * 1024) views - I'll make a fractal for the first person to send me a screenshot of 6144 pageviews or closest to that. The fractal will be of style chosen by the winner, or based on a work by their chosing.
Whatever happened to my previous journal - I guess it got lost due to those recent server troubles.
I do am getting a bit more into fractaling, and getting more used to Chaotica - kudos to lyc (https://www.deviantart.com/lyc) for making it :D
Well, there won't be a feature this time - don't have the time for that at the moment, might make something later on.
Before I finish and go off to Python - I got a girlfriend! Aaaaaaaand, there are some troubles - she says dA is about JUDGING art... Help me convince her otherwise, so that she makes an account?
Earth sure is :)
Some time ago when I was down a friend posted a photo of a hedgehog on my fb profile saying that I should just fold into a ball and roll on.
So I rolled and rolled back here :)
It's been a few days since I started hanging around #Aposhack and making new fractal flames and I finally decided to post this "yet another comeback" journal in hope Im staying for good this time :)
Partly it's thanks to mintyy (https://www.deviantart.com/mintyy), since she said it's high time I got more active around dA - and I know she's right, the more that I want to get more serious with fractal art then I was.
Ok, enough of my sad ranting, here we go towards the better stu
